American director Margaret Bates' first feature film "Apprentice of Love" brings in Margaret Curry, a second-generation star who has become famous for co-producing commercials with famous director Spike Jones, playing a girl born in an atheistic family who goes to a monastery to apprentice in order to become a nun, and unfolds the dialectic of self-belief, but also finds the desire to stir in her heart in the suppression and admonition. Margaret Curry's brilliant performance full of spirituality is not inferior to Oscar winner Melissa Leo, who is on the same stage. The film boldly touches on religious and gay issues, presenting the truth of faith and love that transcends gender, and has won the Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize.
